We all have different skin types and different products that work for us. Products that may suit our friend may or may not suit us. But over time and by trial and error, we find that one skincare routine that helps balance our skin and prevent regular breakouts. To get that skin care routine on point, our Beauty Editor best explains the amazing 5 step K-Beauty Routine. So, to help inspire each other and to learn a thing or two, we got few of our friends to tell us what their skincare routine looks like and what products they prefer using.

When it came to skincare I was the last person on earth that actually cared about having a good skincare regime in place. I had naturally good skin up until two years ago when I started noticing changes in my skin. Dryness under my eyes started popping up alongside heavily congested skin – I was suddenly fighting blackheads and whiteheads! That was my awakening moment where I learned to never take good skin for granted. I follow basic fundamental steps and thankfully and COSRX has been one of the most amazing discoveries for my skin.I have a combination skin type that borders on dry so I follow a two type skincare routine for my good days and my bad days.
My Morning Routine starts with Cleansing – I currently use the Egg White Pore Foam by Skinfood which is mild enough for daily use and doesn’t strip off any beneficial oil from your face. I rub it palm to palm and create a lather instead of directly applying onto my face. I then use the Toner, COSRX- Natural BHA Skin Returning A-sol. For my acne prone skin, this product is my defibrillator. As soon as I start noticing breakouts I know what to grab from my shelf. It acts both as a toner and treatment for acne-prone skin, it takes about a month to start showing results but it really does.
My Fav sunscreen to use is Klairs Midday blue sun lotion SPF 40/PA++. This sunscreen is lightweight and fast absorbing and lucky for me it works like a BB or CC cream on my skin. If I’m headed out to work I start applying make-up only after this step.
My Evening Skincare Routine involves Oil Cleansing with Skinfood’s Rice Brightening Cleansing Oil – After a really long day of wearing makeup and being exposed to sun and dust, I use this cleansing oil to remove even the toughest of make-up. I then use Skinfood’s Honey Flour Fresh Cleansing Foam. Something I have always sworn by is Vitamin C, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C is one such favorite. Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask can be used as a moisturizer but since it enhances the effects of Vitamin C, I use it in combination before getting a good nights sleep. It brightens my skin and also helps in fading marks over time. I replace the Vitamins with COSRX’s Blackhead Power Liquid twice a week – I personally love this product as it not only moisturizes my skin but I also wake up feeling fresh.

I always begin by taking off my makeup using the Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water. I’ll then use The Faceshop Herb Day Cleansing Foam in Peach to get rid of any traces of makeup and oil left. On days when I feel like I need a little extra something for my skin, or my pores look congested, I use the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. I leave it on for a few minutes and rinse it off using lukewarm water. I do this once or twice a week. The best thing about this mask is, it also acts as an exfoliant so you don’t have to go in with another scrub.
Similarly, depending on my skin’s need I like to add a little extra step and pamper myself with Korean Face Masks – I love the ones from DearPacker and The lab. I’ll follow that up by using my Homemade Toner which contains apple cider vinegar and rose water. This is a super affordable and effective remedy for balancing the skin’s pH level and keeping skin concerns such as acne at bay. After I let the toner dry, I go in with the Estée Lauder advanced night repair serum. This is my favorite step and it’s my holy grail product.
For moisturizer, I love the Face Shop Chia Seed No Shine Intense Hydrating Cream and the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. For days when I don’t want a heavy moisturizer to wear under my makeup, I love The Face Shop Damyang Bamboo Fresh Soothing Gel. It has a great smell and doesn’t leave any tackiness, perfect for wearing under your makeup. The last step is spot treating if I have any blemishes. I love my Mario Badescu Drying Lotion as it dries up any existing spots for clearer looking skin.

I use Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water or Johnson’s Baby Oil as an oil cleanser or as a makeup remover. I then use Papaya soap Foam Cleanser. I exfoliate my skin using Skinfood strawberry black sugar mask and the toner I use is Klairs Supple Preparation facial toner – I love this product! Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence is one the best out there and I have seen a significant change in my skin once I started using it. I also apply Triple C Lightning Liquid by Cosrx X Sokoglam. To moisturize my skin, I apply Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream by Wishtrend And Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. The sunscreen I use is Neogen Daylight Protection Sunscreen or Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. Also, I love using Korean Sheet Masks and Aloe Vera Gel for days when I need to look really special.

The first step is definitely cleansing for which I use, Innisfree White Pore Facial Cleanser. I then scrub my face using Innisfree Juju Volcanic Pore Scrub. The Garnier Neem Face Wash has been a personal fav for quite some time now because I always get good results after using it. I use a Tony Moly Intense Care Hydrogel Sheet Mask once a week. The Tony Moly Sheet Masks help my skin get that special glow whenever I most need it. I am also a huge fan of Himalaya Neem Face Mask, which does wonders for my skin! I also love dabbing Rose Water on my skin or using a Fresh Face Mist. For Moisturizer, I use Lakme Peach Milk – it suits my skin type. And for sunscreen, I use Lakme SPF 30.
